People dressed in crazy extravagant street style, photographers chasing celebrities, extreme shortage of parking spaces… This could mean only one thing – London Fashion Week has once again taken over the city! Missing the first days of LFW SS20, I’m back just in time for a few catwalk shows and presentations including the Paul Costelloe runway show at the grand ballroom of Waldorf Hilton Hotel. The new SS20 collection bursting with abstract floral prints and juicy colors styled with chunky layered gold chains almost made me forget we’re in the middle of gloomy London autumn.
For me, fashion and jewelry have always been inseparable. This is why 10 years ago GEMOLOGUE was the first online jewelry destination to showcase jewels in a stylish, dynamic context. With so many jewelry events happening during LFW, I am happy to see the gap between jewelry and fashion finally shrinking! From GEMFIELDS multi-sensory experience and Wallace Chan exhibition to LAPADA Art & Antiques Fair and Jewellery Cut Live presenting 27 contemporary jewelry designers, I even had a moment to witness Van Cleef & Arpels high jewelry creations presented at their New Bond Street boutique!
I wouldn’t be myself if I didn’t jump onto the opportunity to style a perfect bejeweled LFW street style look, rushing from one event to another! Remember my epic #JEWELLERYFACE, diamond face, and contemporary kokoshnik street style LFW looks? This time I’m shifting my focus to a stunning bejeweled coat by Kathryn Evans, almost entirely embroidered with sparkly blue flowers. I accidentally spotted it at the IJL catwalk and could instantly picture it paired with my gold toned Maison Margiela bag and Gucci loafers!
Following one of my jewelry styling tips: “Never leave home without jewelry” – I’ve embellished my hands with statement cocktail rings by Sevan Bicakci and Nayibe Warchausky. Adding contemporary Uncommon Matters hoops as a final touch for my ears and a real binocular necklace, which didn’t go unnoticed!
Thanks for stopping by! What jewelry events have you attended recently? Share with me in the comments!
I am extremely happy to announce that my new jewelry book – GEMOLOGUE: Street Jewellery Styles & Styling Tips – is now on Amazon. I’m so excited. It’s the first book of its kind solely dedicated to jewelry.
